Homearama is my absolute favorite community event. I look forward to it each year. Will you be attending? The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati has announced the 48th annual Cincinnati Homearama 2009. The show will not take place in June as is typical and as it was originally scheduled. The revised date is September 12 – 27, 2009. The newly announced location is the Carmelle development in Mason, Ohio just north of Cincinnati.

Directions to Carmelle Homearama 2009 (Mason, Ohio)
From I-71 take the Kings Mills Road/S.R. 741 exit (Exit # 25)
West onto Kings Mills Road
Bear right onto S.R. 741
Carmelle is located 3/4 of a mile on the right

The original show was scheduled for Longcove which would have been the 4th Longcove addition. However, in November of 2008 the Association publically shared that economic conditions and the resulting lack of builder participation would force the show to cancel the Longcove location.

Carmelle is a Rhein Interests development. Rhein will act as host of Homearama 2009. Carmelle is described by the Association as a place where “you can enjoy coming home to a community that offers a discriminating lifestyle complimented by the beauty of surrounding nature. Carmelle offers quiet, neighborhood living within the excellent rated Mason School district, and is only moments away from I-71 and other city conveniences. This impressive community offers a recreation facility featuring two swimming pools, a cabana and playfields providing opportunities for fun and relaxation close to home!” Carmelle boasts a sales history of 63 homes in 3 years.

There are currently only 5 builders (meaning just 5 homes) participating in Homearama 2009. Past editions often had 10 or more homes. Economic pressures have forced the show to lower its definition of luxury at least in terms of price. While recent Homearama showcased homes valued at well above $1 million, Cincinnati Homearama 2009 will feature homes in the $500,000 – $900,000 price range.

News Coverage of Homearama 2009

The latest… High Pointe Custom Homes has announced that their 6,500sq. ft. Homearama 2009 home is now sold. Oddly, they have not disclosed the price and the Butler County Auditor site is down right now.

The home (located at 3229 Riverside Dr., Mason, OH 45040) is in the framing phase of construction. This is High Pointes debut in a Homearama show and this home on Lot #5 is a joint venture with their sister company, Summit Custom Home Builders.
